It’s hot. Africa hot.

I

So the docs have given me permission (after nearly 4 weeks!) to go back to the gym. Whatever was supposed to heal in my shoulder has done so, and I’m headed up the road to test it all out. Soreness awaits me, no doubt. And no, I’m not gonna over do it. And yes, I’m going to be extra careful and pay special attention to everything. I know, it’s a marathon not a sprint. Yeah yeah … more importantly …

Here’s what I listen to at El Gym-io. I realized that all those bozos who listen to speed metal are, well, bozos. Seems to me that the rhythm of the music should match the sets and reps. And who does reps at 180 BPM?

This is the playlist I use at the gym. Just the right beats to match the speed of each set/rep. Like the tunes? I probably like you. You probably like me. Hell, we might actually like each other?

The Doors – The Wasp (Texas Radio & the Big Beat)
Ima Robot – Black Jettas
Nirvana – Love Buzz
Pipe – The Crash
Al Green – I Can’t Get Next to You
Datarock – Bulldozer
Red Rider – Lunatic Fringe (ok, ok, a guilty pleasure)
Elton John – I Think I’m Gonna Kill Myself
The Temptations – Papa Was a Rolling Stone
Talking Heads – Psycho Killer
Starsailor – Faith Hope Love
Graham Nash – Chicago/We Can Change the World
Love and Rockets – No New Tale to Tell
Patiokings – Summertime
House of Pain – Jump Around (ok, ok, another guilty pleasure)
