To Whom It May Concern:
I’m Scott Feldman — no, not that Scott Feldman, another one. Â I live in Boston, and I’m a Red Sox fan. Â As you might imagine, being a Sox fan is required by law here in Massachusetts. Â But to share a name with your star pitcher presents some obvious difficulties.
I was writing to ask if perhaps you could arrange a meeting between your pitcher and me. Â I see the Rangers are coming to Boston in late April. Â Naturally, I’ll be around. Â And my phone/email/Facebhaook/Twitter/Website will be going crazy with folks who think it’s hysterical that I’m pitching at Fenway.
I checked into it: Â I’m 8 years older than Scott Feldman. Â So the way I see it, either he should change his name, or at least become a member of the Red Sox. Â Both of these solutions would allow me to remain a loyal Sox fan, and avoid the obvious confusion that comes with your pitcher sharing my name.
If possible, I’d like to arrange a meeting with Mr. Feldman to discuss our rather unique situation.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Scott Feldman (no, the other one…)
