Happy 67th Birthday to John Kay – frontman for Steppenwolf. Their biggest hit, “Born to Be Wild” was originally written as a ballad. Steppenwolf’s sped-up 1967 arrangement was the one that became a hit and helped the band sell over 25 million records worldwide.
